Computer Science is a two-year elective course spanning Forms 3 and 4. In addition to preparing students for computer science courses at the tertiary level, the course aims to teach students how to solve problems like programmers by breaking down complex tasks into executable steps.
The course begins by exploring the interdisciplinary applications of computer science, emphasizing that computer systems are based on human design, creativity and input.
Students learn basic search, sorting and network modelling algorithms while recognizing how these concepts apply to real-life areas such as business, transportation and infrastructure.
The course introduces programming concepts including primitive data types, data storage, expressions, conditionals, loops, modular programming and arrays.
Through collaborative programming activities, students gain hands-on programming experience and develop confidence in creating solutions using computational thinking.
The programme concludes with a robotics unit where students apply their knowledge through engaging practical activities and technology-based projects.

The course introduces students to computers, user and computer safety, responsible technology use, computer hardware and the process of transforming data into meaningful information.
Students develop practical computer skills including typing practice through the use of Mavis Beacon Teaching Typing software and gain experience using essential office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
Students are also introduced to the Internet, its applications in communication, research and accessing digital resources.
The course explores web presence, its importance and impact on society, education and businesses. Students are guided to create their own digital presence through developing social media accounts and creating websites.
